Yael Bruria Aviezer - "Picture Tales"

Yael Fine Art
Artist's Statement - Using naturalistic objects of Man and Nature, Land and Seascape, Still Life and Portraits... I am trying to find the symbols to express my personal ideas and philosophies. The glorious beauty and the horrifying power of Nature and the Universe versus the enlightened and the courageous, as well as the cruelty of people - A humiliating, grotesque status of Man and Womankind in search of a life of harmony and balance. I hope that in delivering my individual, artistic message, I shall help in my own little way to promote co-existence and goodwill between Man and Man and Man and Nature - for mutual respect, support and love... and for a better and a kinder world.

About Yael Bruria Aviezer

  About Yael Bruria Aviezer

Yael Bruria Aviezer was born in Tel Aviv into a family of artists. Her mother was her first art teacher and mentor.

Yael studied art at Bezalel Jerusalem Art Academy. She continued her studies in the United States at the Julliard School of Dance and the Cooper Union in New York City.

She also worked professionally as a dancer, teacher, choreographer and as a dramatic actor.

During the 1970's and 1980's, Ms. Aviezer established and directed the New Gallery in Tel Aviv, where she also held shows of her own work. The artist, experienced in her multi-cultural background and modes of creativity, evolved into her unique style, as is reflected through her delicate figurative watercolors, on one hand, and an energetic, emotional and colorful expressionism of her oil paintings on the other.

Yael Bruria Aviezer didn't live to see her art studio open. Now her partner is keeping his final promise to her. Yael Fine Art Gallery was established in October 2006. The gallery offers over 200 water-oil, oil and acrylic paintings as well as some drawings.

"The axis upon which Yael Bruria Aviezer's paintings extends, lies between an objective distinction of reality and a metaphorical color vibration, hence rising into sensual heights."
-David Gerstein, Painter, Art Teacher and Art Critic

Memories and images trigger spontaneous choices and themes. Photographs and sketches gradually become "Picture Tales". This collection of pictures and tales came to be in 1995-96, but the roots are grounded, "Once upon a time" before, after, and now. Each "Picture Tale" came through driven need-organic picturesque symbols emanating from the tales of the soul.
